After 25k miles my Goodyear RS-A's are shot and I need new tires. I live in Michigan so I need all-season tires (the RS-a's are terrible in winter).  I've been searching the different ratings (Consumer Reports/Tire Rack, etc.) and it seems the Michelin Pilot Exalto *** is rated high but also very expensive ($166 ea.).  The Yokohama YK520 seems alot mor ereasonable at $119ea.  Let me know your thoughts on any brand.  The size is 205-50-17

Thanks,

Al

I have heard good things about the Avon M550 but I have never owned a set so I have no first hand experience with them. I have driven on a few of the Yokohama All-Seasons and I can say that they make a very nice all season that is usually one of the more reasonably priced in the class. tirerack has the ADVAN for 145/tire, still cheaper than the Michelin. I have driven several cars on the Goodyear RS-As, they were all VW used for a while, and I can tell you that just about any decent tire you choose will be a better tire than those. Goodyear must give those things away to car manufacturers.

Hi I also need to replace my GoodYears on my Mazda3. Did you purchase the  YK520's? I was just about to order those as they seem resonable and have a treadware warranty. I live in Wisconsin and need at least an all season tire. How have they worked for you?

Thanks.
