That's evil, I hope dealers don't do the same thing when they service our cars.

I hate those chain stores like Jiffy Lube and Midas etc. You have no idea who is working on your car, you can never trust they have done the work, much less they have done it right. I have never seen a torque wrench in one of those quick service "we do everything" places.

This is just another reason to find a place an independent shop that you can get to know the owner and the mechanics. Before I moved into my current place, I did almost all my own work, but I still was good friends with my local independent VW/Porsche guy. If I needed advice, to borrow tools or just someone to bench race with he was there. I was lucky enough to find another such shop where I live now. It is really helpful since I no longer have a place to work on my car.
