Nine times in the last 15 months, my Ford Focus wagon (2003, 70,000+ miles) has left me stranded. The situation is always the same: driving 30 - 45 minutes, stop at the store for 15 minutes, come back out to start the car and it turns over, but stalls out. If I wait for 45 minutes, the car starts right up. Every time except the first time, the temperature was 80 and above.
My local Ford dealer kept the car one day but had NO idea what the problem was - of course they were the same group that didn't think there was a problem with my transmission until I took it in the fourth time (then they rebuilt it).
Could this be vapor lock? If so, what is the remedy?
The car really suits my needs, with good gas mileage and perfect for carting my dogs around.
Help please!!!

it could possibly be a fuel pressure problem, possible bad fuel pump check valve, fuel pressure regulator etc...
