My '92 Chevrolet C1500 (4.3L) deems to have an intermittent fuel problem. After starting the engine will run normally for about 10 to 15 seconds, then dies. I installed a complete fuel pump *** just over a year ago. The fuel pump can be heard running when the ignition is in the "on" position. The fuel pump also runs continuosly when 12 volts is applied to the fuel pump test position of the obd data connection block. The fuel filter is new. As I said the problem is intermittent, and when the engine does continue to run after starting, it runs normally at all speeds, and fuel demands. When running, it will continue to run even when the fuel pump relay is disconnected (I believe this validates that the oil pressure switch if functioning normally, providing power to the pump).
When the problem appears, the engine may be enticed to run by adding fuel manually into the throttle body.
Any ideas?
Mike
