Im not sure if any of you modify VW's but there has been an everlasting dispute between these two chips, and i was wondering if any of you have any experience with these two different chips.

I have been going back and forth on this for a while with the beetle. My advice is find the shop you are most comfortable with and go with which ever program they sell. There has a been a ton of arguments both ways, I have had several people tell me that GIAC has a better program for 91 octane Cali gas while other people say that isn't true at all.

If I remember correctly one of the big differences, at least functinaly, is that the GIAC has the Flash Loader controller that lets you select a program then unplug the thing until you want to chang it again. The APR is all controlled through the cruise control stalk.

Do you have a local shop you usually deal with?

I used to, but they suggested some chip called a "Power CHip" and i've never heard of such a thing.  I heard GIAC is good if ur out of CALI cus of the 93 octane program they have, but im not sure if this is all true.  Ive been thinking about it for the past 6 months and i cant really decide...
