Sounds like there's a leak somewhere. Did you have all the hoses and whatnot checked by the dealer? Also are you sure its water? It could be some car fluid that looks like water.

does the car have a suroof? I have had a few experiences where the drains for the sunroof get filled with dirt/debris/stuff and then it backs up and drains into the car instead. The front drains can quite often be cleared with a coat hanger.

Just a stupid thought but has the dealer checked the drain for the A/C backing up? If not run don't walk to the next nearest dealer!

My inlaws have the same 04 sebring with a sunroof and has the exact same problem. I went to dinner with them last night and was told of the problem and sitting in the back on the drivers side I watched my father in law soak up large amounts of water with a sponge. He too suspected the sunroof and possibly the door gasket but I concluded it was the AC drain. We got to the restaurant and he sponge out the floor before going in. We came out and the floor was still just damp but after driving about an hour to get home the floor was full of water. Like a pint or even more. It was not raining but about 90 degrees and humid so we had the AC on fairly high. He said this has been going on for about a week. I suggested that he call the dealer to see if they have heard of this problem.

my inlaws still have not solved the problem. They are afraid of the dealer and have brought it to the local shop who is scratching thier head.I asked the dealer and they said they had not heard anything but I felt like I was getting the big blow off. They said that if there was an obstruction that it would not be warrantied. Typical dealer response. Have you got the problem fixed?

this problem i had with my jeep grand cherokee, its the condisate drain, its backed up, so it comes out the port from the box under the dash trough to the back floorboard my drain emptys into the frame, so i had to drill a hole in the little cirle outlet at the bottom of that box under the carpet, and stick a caot hanger throw to get the debris out then put a rubber plug in that fixxed my flood problem had to replace carpet and padding

Hello. I was reading some messages about people having leakage problems in their vehicles when I saw the last entry on the page...yours.
I was wondering if you could tell me EXACTLY where you had to drill the hole to access the drainage clog. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee as well and my passenger side floor (under front seat mostly) is very saturated. We've concluded that the A/C MUST NOT BE DRAINING properly. My husband pulled the carpet back from the front passenger side and found a round unit in the firewall (passenger side upper center section - not near the center of the vehicle, but center area of the 'passenger side' section of the vehicle) and drilled a hole in that. Very little water came out of it, but he stuck a hanger in the hole and we couldn't see it from under the hood anywhere. I can tell you that when I start my vehicle, I hear all kinds of 'flowing water' for several minutes until the vehicle has been running a few minutes. I feel the vent in the floor next to the center console leading to the passenger front seat and don't feel any water coming out. I never seem to be able to 'catch' the actual water leak -- only get the results.
I'm thinking we need to drill a hole somewhere else - near the center of the vehicle to get the water to drain properly and completely before entering the inside of my vehicle.
IF you could give me any DETAILS before my husband goes drilling more holes in places we don't need to be......it would be a TREMENDOUS help.
I don't have the original owners manuals and the Repair manual I have does not SPECIFICALLY state 'where' the A/C drain is supposed to be. So...it's all a shot in the dark (literally).
I greatly appreciate your help,
mtkcherokee

I have the exact same problem. passenger side carpet is soaked and has become moldy. I've removed the carpet from that side and am now looking for the source. Other than the occasional rain the car hasn't been to a car wash. I'm thinking the AC drain sounds like a logical cause. My other problem now is finding replacement carpet for the vehicle
