I just bought one in dark gray w/ black leather. Has anyone seen the mixed reviews for this car? I think, for the price, it's amazing. Remote start, 6 disc Monsoon system, sunroof, 240 hp and 240 torque, great overall styling, etc. All for less than 22K. Does anyone else have an opinion about this car? I didn't research it until after I drove it and fell for it. I was surprised by some awesome reviews online and some really awful ones. I guess GM has a lot of bad cars to make up for before some people forget the Grand Ams and FieroCrackers...

I agree, the G6 Coupe is one of the more attractive cars by Pontiac.

I love the styling of all the G6 trims and test-drove the GT sedan when it first came out. I still turn and stare any time the sedan or, rarely, a coupe passes by.
As for history, you pegged it with your remark about GM's past. Lots of folks have never forgiven the atrocities that were the Fiero and Grand Am. I believe that's one of the reasons why GM came up with G6 instead of continue with the Grand Am name. Another reason reviews are so negative is the disconnect between GM's portrayal of the vehicle in advertising (i.e., a cheap BMW or Mazda6 competitor) instead of the reality (Accord/Camry competitor.)

I agree with automotive dp... the Pontiac G6 Coupe = Toyota Solara. The rear end styling is EXTREMELY similar. But yeah, the Pontiac G6 is a nice looking car... even OPRAH loves it.

i know the older grand prix gtp's were a blast to drive even though they had poor styling, they were a burn out machine with incredible torque steer and sounded pretty mean with the supercharger, i hope the g6 gtp is as fun, because it definatley has better styling

You know, though, my other car is a 2003 BMW 3-series (granted, it's a 323i with the 2.5L six) but the G6 GTP feels sportier. The interior is a little more aggressive, and the motor is really smooth and powerful. For someone who always turned up my nose to US-made cars (I owned a Forg Probe GT, but it was really a Mazda), I gotta say I'd rather drive the G6 than the rather soft 323i. Maybe the new just hasn't worn off... ;-) BTW, I have rented a lit of G6 sedans for work, and that's what drew my attention to them in the first place. The sedans are a blast to drive- especially when you can drive a rental car like you stole it...
